Well-known web author Stefan Münz explained why he prefers publishing on the Wikidot platform, quoting from an article he wrote about Wikidot.com:

"Wikidot allows to run full featured blogs but also has features which go far beyond typical blog software. For example a content managment for usual documents which are not ordered on a timeline, a complete, thread based forum system, a lot of web 2.0 interfaces, and a lot of internal ways to customize a site for individual needs. There are not so many alternatives on the web where you can run a blog, a forum, a collaborative content management, a feed aggregator and lots of other things in one place, with one platform."

The full article is on Stefan's blog (German). Stefan's Webcompetenz site is a Wikidot Community Featured Site.
